About

ZDS Architects take the design experience personally.  Relationships parallel the design process as they are both guided by an interactive and creative course.  Focused on respecting the individual and environment, ZDS integrates your interests to achieve uncommon results.

Through these pages, we at ZDS wish to bring our experience of architecture and design closer to the public.  We wish to share experiences related to our projects, the people we collaborate with and the products we select.  We will post about subjects that involve architecture, sustainability, green living, the Living Building Challenge, life in the Northwest, and also politics, lifestyle and culture.

• Jesse Oona Nickerson, LEED AP, is ZDS’ editorial consultant and photographer.  Jesse obtained the degree of Doctor of Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic School of Architecture and Engineering in 1997.  Born from an Italian mother and an American father, she spent most of her growing years between Milan, Italy and New York City.  She owes her bicultural nature to the rich texture of two different places.  A bit of an urban nomad, in 1998 she found herself again in New York City, which became the melting pot of many creative inspirations in design, photography and writing.  Among other work experiences, Jesse has had two formative and inspiring periods, one at Gabellini Associates in New York City and one at Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen in Seattle, where she moved in 2006.  Her interest dwells in the interstitial area of cross-fertilization between art and architecture and is currently working as a writing consultant, photographer, designer, and teacher.
